Emily Bails

Emily Bails (she/her) serves as the Programs Associate after previously serving an AmeriCorps term with SOPEC from 2022-2023. In her role, Emily supports the grants team, manages data and reporting for sustainability programs and collaborates with community partners to meet their SolSmart designation goals. Having earned a BS in Wildlife Biology from Ohio University, Emily’s interest in sustainability branched from her interest in climate change mitigation. During her time at SOPEC, she has learned that sustainable energy is an important part of climate change mitigation, both through smaller energy efficiency measures and larger options like solar energy. In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, birding, rooting for Ohio University hockey, learning how to roller skate and volunteering at the Athens County Dog Shelter. She is especially interested in fiction writing with a goal to publish her work someday.
